Smallbits License Agreement

TL;DR

Smallbits is free. Use the icons in personal or commercial projects, modify them however you like, include them in client work and end products. Just don't repackage the icons to sell them as icons – no uploading to marketplaces, no bundling them into UI kits or themes where the icons are the main event, no reselling the files.

What You CAN Do

Commercial & Personal Use

  • Use icons in unlimited personal and commercial projects
  • Client work: Create designs for unlimited clients
  • End products: Use in unlimited websites, apps, presentations, print materials
  • Modify icons: Edit, resize, recolor, and customize as needed

Specific Uses Include

  • Website and app user interfaces
  • Marketing materials and presentations
  • Print materials: flyers, posters, business cards
  • Social media graphics
  • Client projects and deliverables
  • Internal company materials

What You CANNOT Do

Strictly Prohibited

  • No resale or redistribution: Cannot sell, give away, or share the icon files themselves
  • No sublicensing: Cannot license the icons to others
  • No marketplace uploads: Cannot upload to icon marketplaces, template sites, or stock libraries
  • No template bundling: Cannot include the icons as a core component in website templates, UI kits, themes, or design bundles for sale
  • No trademark use: Cannot register icons as trademarks or use as standalone brand elements
  • No competing sets: Cannot create competing icon sets derived from Smallbits

Examples of Prohibited Use

  • Selling icons on Etsy, Creative Market, or similar platforms
  • Uploading to Noun Project, Flaticon, or other icon libraries
  • Including Smallbits in WordPress themes or website templates for sale
  • Packaging Smallbits in a UI kit or theme where the icons are a primary reason people are paying for it
  • Creating a derivative icon set using Smallbits as a starting point

  • Not required, but always appreciated
  • Feel free to give a shoutout on social media or your website

Legal Terms

Ownership

Minor Adventures retains all rights to the original icons. You receive usage rights only, not ownership. This license does not transfer intellectual property rights.

Warranty & Liability

Icons are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Minor Adventures is not liable for any claims, damages, or other issues arising from their use.

Termination

This license is perpetual unless terminated for breach. If you violate these terms, the license may be terminated. Upon termination, stop using the icons and delete the files.

Governing Law

This agreement is governed by Dutch law. Disputes are resolved under Netherlands jurisdiction.
